Department of Peace Operations (DPO) and
International Peace and Development Training Centre
Managing and Transforming Global Conflicts in the 21st Century is a two-day
experts level seminar arranged for government and political leadership,
diplomats, representatives of national and international organizations, and
experienced practitioners, mediators and field workers for the UN and other
international agencies.
The seminar will provide a hands-on global overview of experiences in
peacebuilding, peacemaking and managing peace processes. Special focus will
be placed on current situations and conflicts internationally and effective
tools and methods for governments and national and international
organizations for preventing crises, transforming conflicts, and enabling
sustainable peace.
Internationally recognized as an expert and practitioner in peacebuilding
and facilitation of back-channel mediation and peace efforts, Kai Frithjof
Brand-Jacobsen has worked in Kosovo, Afghanistan, the Middle East, Sri
Lanka, Moldova and elsewhere. In this two-day program he will work with
participants to address key opportunities in peacebuilding and peacemaking
today, developing expert skills for managing conflicts and crises
nationally and internationally.
