Peace Arch Entertainment Group Inc., an integrated global entertainment company, today announced that its acclaimed and controversial feature film about the assassin of Beatle John Lennon, "Chapter 27," delivered this past weekend's highest per screen average in the nation in its debut at New York City's Angelika theater with a three-day average of $13,900. "Chapter 27" expands to 5 screens in New York and Los Angeles this weekend and will roll out to more than 25 additional cities, including San Francisco, Chicago, Boston and Seattle, over the next several weeks.[ ... ]
The psychological drama "Chapter 27," a controversial exploration of Mark David Chapman's gradual breakdown during the days leading up to his murder of Lennon, features a riveting performance by Jared Leto ("Requiem For A Dream," "Panic Room," "Fight Club"), along with Judah Friedlander ("Zoolander," "Meet The Parents") and Lindsay Lohan ("Mean Girls," "Freaky Friday," "Herbie Fully Loaded"). Jarrett Schaefer wrote and directed the film produced by Robert Salerno, Naomi Despres and Alexandra Milchan. "Chapter 27" had its world premiere at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival and its European premiere at the Zurich Film Festival, where Schaefer won the prize for best debut feature.
