The average American, of whose daily life TV-watching takes such an unhealthy portion, distinguishes between these fictional situations and reality only with difficulty, if at all. He responds to the televised actions, statements, and attitudes of TV actors much as he does to his own peers in real life. For all too many Americans the real world has been replaced by the false reality of the TV environment, and it is to this false reality that his urge to conform responds. Thus, when a TV scriptwriter expresses approval of some ideas and actions through the TV characters for whom he is writing, and disapproval of others, he exerts a powerful pressure on millions of viewers toward conformity with his own views.

And as it is with TV entertainment, so it is also with the news, whether televised or printed. The insidious thing about this form of thought control is that even when we realize that entertainment or news is biased, the media masters still are able to manipulate most of us. This is because they not only slant what they present, but also they establish tacit boundaries and ground rules for the permissible spectrum of opinion.

As an example, consider the media treatment of Middle East news. Some editors or commentators are slavishly pro-Israel in their every utterance, while others seem nearly neutral. No one, however, dares suggest that the U.S. government is backing the wrong side in the Arab-Jewish conflict, or that 9-11 was a result of that support. Nor does anyone dare suggest that it served Jewish interests, rather than American interests, to send U.S. forces to cripple Iraq, Israel's principal rival in the Middle East. Thus, a spectrum of permissible opinion, from pro-Israel to nearly neutral, is established.

Another example is the media treatment of racial issues in the United States. Some commentators seem almost dispassionate in reporting news of racial strife, while others are emotionally partisan—with the partisanship always on the non-White side. All of the media spokesmen without exception, however, take the position that "multiculturalism" and racial mixing are here to stay and that they are good things.

Because there are differences in degree, however, most Americans fail to realize that they are being manipulated. Even the citizen who complains about "managed news" falls into the trap of thinking that because he is presented with an apparent spectrum of opinion he can escape the thought controllers' influence by believing the editor or commentator of his choice. It's a "heads I win, tails you lose" situation. Every point on the permissible spectrum of public opinion is acceptable to the media masters—and no impermissible fact or viewpoint is allowed any exposure at all, if they can prevent it.

The control of the opinion-molding media is nearly monolithic. All of the controlled media—television, radio, newspapers, magazines, books, motion pictures—speak with a single voice, each reinforcing the other. Despite the appearance of variety, there is no real dissent, no alternative source of facts or ideas accessible to the great mass of people that might allow them to form opinions at odds with those of the media masters. They are presented with a single view of the world—a world in which every voice proclaims the equality of the races, the inerrant nature of the Jewish "Holocaust" tale, the wickedness of attempting to halt the flood of non-White aliens pouring across our borders, the danger of permitting citizens to keep and bear arms, the moral equivalence of all sexual orientations, and the desirability of a "pluralistic," cosmopolitan society rather than a homogeneous, White one. It is a view of the world designed by the media masters to suit their own ends—and the pressure to conform to that view is overwhelming. People adapt their opinions to it, vote in accord with it, and shape their lives to fit it.

And who are these all-powerful masters of the media? As we shall see, to a very large extent they are Jews. It isn't simply a matter of the media being controlled by profit-hungry capitalists, some of whom happen to be Jews. If that were the case, the ethnicity of the media masters would reflect, at least approximately, the ratio of rich Gentiles to rich Jews. Despite a few prominent exceptions, the preponderance of Jews in the media is so overwhelming that we are obliged to assume that it is due to more than mere happenstance.

Unquestionably, however, Bush did make some positive contributions to American life, even if they were completely inadvertent, and even if they were dwarfed by the swath of destruction he left all across the landscape. Put simply, George W. Bush's greatest success was that he gave a very bad name to very bad things.

Like the Republican Party, for example. Or conservative ideology. Or theocracy. Or presidents with the last name of Bush. Or emotional midgets who seek the White House as a salve for their personal psychological neediness.

We can be grateful for all these contributions, and I certainly am – though “thanks” is not likely what I would say if I had the pleasure of relating my assessment of Mr. Bush to him directly. More likely it would be something closer to the gracious words Dick “Dick” Cheney had for Patrick Leahy early on in the administration, when the two bumped into each other on the Senate floor. Those remarks were not, shall we say, fit for print in a family newspaper.

But I digress.

George Bush left us many gifts, but perhaps the greatest of them is that he has ruined the sport of imperialism in America, maybe forever.

Admittedly, that may of course be wishful thinking. Woe be unto the world, for example, should there be another 9/11 type of event. Somebody somewhere would have to pay in spades, and they likely wouldn't be nice white folks.

And god only knows, alternatively, what Americans might be capable of under conditions of real resource deprivation. Considering what we've already done while being the richest and most powerful country in the world, it's scary to think of what we could do with our back genuinely to the wall.

But leaving those unusual situations aside, it must be said that, after Iraq, the fun has really gone out of eviscerating small foreign countries, even those foolish enough to locate themselves on top of our oil.

Imperialism used to be a fairly sporting avocation for gentlemen of a certain class. You could occupy hapless Latin American countries, topple Iranian democracies, and simultaneously sponsor apartheid suppression of whole populations, still having time left by mid-afternoon for a couple belts with the boys down at the club, all in celebration of a good day's work at the office. It was jolly good fun for all. Except, of course, for all for whom it wasn't.

Unfortunately, that latter category included more or less the entirety of the southern hemisphere, and not a few in the north to boot. But, so what? We're Americans! Caring about the morality of imperialism is for pre-dictatorship revolutionary anti-colonialist leaders and washed-up European former empires who can't get it up anymore.

Truth be told, we're now closer to being in that latter category than not, and we can thank George W. Bush for that, one of the few contributions of this complete and utter disaster going by the name of the 43rd presidency.

I'd say we're more than a bit lucky for that outcome, too. Imagine if Iraq had been a success. Imagine if it had been the cakewalk they obviously thought it would be. Indeed, one of the great ironies of American politics is that Iraq probably readily could have been a 'great success', at least in terms of what could be marketed as such to a foolish American public.

In that sense, we are really quite fortunate, in a perverse sort of way, that Bush was as much a lazy boob as he was a warmonger. We are lucky that Rumsfeld was as dogmatic about his 21 century military ideas as Cheney was a completely psycho amoral sociopath. For had they simply run an occupation that was as carefully planned and as adequately staffed as the invasion, or had they toppled Saddam and then promptly left, “Mission Accomplished” would have been a lot more than some banner duct-taped onto the bridge of an aircraft carrier.

I need to clarify this introduction first before I proceed. My job obliges me to read the British dailies every day. As I skim through their pages, I come across unsolicited news items on Holocaust heroes, movies, and novels. As for the American dailies, I surf them on the net, focusing on the political news in complete disregard for the social reports, cinema and local news. I am sure I would come across an abundant material on the Holocaust if I were to have a hard copy of these dailies. For the Holocaust is an industry per se in the States.
 
In today's column, I will focus on the content of the British dailies with the records kept in my office for all those interested in checking them. When Israel first launched its offensive on Gaza on December 27, I used to note one or two news on the Holocaust, a development I overlooked. But at the start of the new year, one or more items were published on the Holocaust. Coincidence must have played its part. But its not only about coincidence. The abundant material published while Gaza is in flames highlights the attempts to deflect attention away from the neo-Nazis in Israel.

Thus, with Gaza as a background, I have the following:

- On January 3rd, 2009, I came across two pages on the movie "Defiance" under the title "True Defiance: The story of the fabulous Bielski boys." The movie narrates the story of three brothers from Byelorussia who saw the Nazi war machinery smash their fellow Jews. They neither escaped nor surrendered but organized resistance and killed all the Nazis they could. Starred by Daniel Craig, the last hero of James Bond's films, the movie is directed by Ed Zwick. 

- On January 3rd, I came across another headline "Kubrick Holocaust film to be told in installation." After having invested enormous energy and money into this movie on the Warsaw Ghetto, renowned director Stanley Kubrick passed away before directing the film. Now artists Jane and Louise Wilson will tell the story of the movie through a new art installation at the British Film Institute in London.

Bavaria seizes educational reprints of Nazi propaganda

Munich - Bavarian authorities on Friday began seizing educational reprints of Nazi propaganda, saying the facsimiles of 75- year-old hate-filled newspapers might inspire modern-day neo-Nazis. The reprints are the work of a British part-works publisher, Albertas, which uses historic newspapers to give readers in several European nations a feel for the past. The editions have commentaries which dissect the propaganda tricks.

The state of Bavaria has opposed the series since it began two weeks ago and became a best-seller in a nation where most people under 80 have never seen Nazi propaganda in the raw and those over 80 do not want to talk about it.

Several leading historians in Germany have praised the series, saying it will educate young Germans about their nation's awful past.

Bavaria, where dictator Adolf Hitler once made his home, claims copyright over major Nazi writings and forbids any reprints. Albertas ignored an earlier cease-and-desist letter from Bavarian authorities.

Justice authorities in Munich said the British publisher would be prosecuted under anti-Nazi laws for printing swastikas.

The new weekly popular history series, using papers from the 1930s and 1940s, is aimed at the general public and schools.

The western front of the jihad against the Jews

The common front between the Jew-haters of the Arab and Muslim world and the Jew-haters of the west is now gathering momentum. On 26 January the Simon Wiesenthal Centre (sorry no link) put out this statement:

In a letter to Swedish Prime Minister, Fredrik Reinfeldt, the Simon Wiesenthal Centre's Director for International Relations, Dr Shimon Samuels, reported on 'a most alarming situation yesterday in Malmö, as witnessed by one of our Centre's Swedish members.' Samuels noted that 'apparently, a small number of Swedish Jews had received the necessary permit for a silent demonstration for peace, to be held in the centre of Malmö'. He continued: 'Following the first speech, electric wires to the microphone were cut as a large crowd of Arab counter-demonstrators surrounded your Jewish citizens, screaming antisemitic abuse and brandishing swastika posters', adding that the official demonstration organizers requested the police officers present, to keep the peace and prevent a riot. The law enforcement response was that “The Jews should leave!” Jewish children and elderly were forced to run from the gathering as young Arabs pursued them, threatening physical violence. The Centre pointed out that 'Malmö has become a Gaza nest in Scandinavia, with an increasingly Jihadist presence, especially galvanized by the European Social Forum calls from Malmö for assaults upon Israel, last September, BEFORE the Gaza operation.'

On the same day that this letter was sent, the day before Holocaust Remembrance Day, Egyptian cleric Amin al Ansari appeared on an Egyptian TV channel to announce that Europe had had no choice but to exterminate the Jews in the Holocaust because of their innate evil. You can see the footage and read the transcript here. 

Starting off by examining 'the civil strife the Jews have caused throughout the world,' Al-Ansari explained that because of the Jews' deeds during and after World War I, 'it got to the point that the rulers themselves had no solution but to annihilate them.' Al-Ansari showed viewers how 'the holocausts of the Jews in Germany were because of their own deeds - they were killing Germans, kindling civil strife, inciting the people against their rulers, and corrupting the peoples,' underlining his points with World War II footage of the bombing of Berlin, which he compared to present-day Gaza. Then, saying, 'Let's watch what Germany did to Israel - or rather, to the Jews,' he screened footage of torture and killing of Jews in Dachau, Mauthausen, and Belsen, providing running commentary, and stating, 'This is what we hope will happen, but, Allah willing, at the hand of the Muslims.' He adds that the Jews 'have even turned [the Holocaust] it into a holiday, which will be marked in a few days. They call it the Holocaust Holiday, in which they rekindle what happened to them, for the whole world to see, so that people will feel sorry for them... so that they can continue to extort people politically and financially forever. They like money.'

Egypt, you may recall, is the country which the west is expecting to ensure that no more weapons to annihilate Israel are smuggled through the tunnels under its border into Gaza. Small chance of this support for the genocide of the Jews being viewed with abhorrence in Norway, where Trine Lilleng, that country's First Secretary at its embassy in Riyadh, recently sent out an email on her office account (excoriated here by David Harris, Executive Director of the American Jewish committee) in which she declared:

The grandchildren of Holocaust survivors from World War II are doing to the Palestinians exactly what was done to them by Nazi Germany.

Accompanying the text were photos, with an emphasis on children, seeking to juxtapose the Holocaust with the recent Israeli military operation in Gaza.

Amin al Ansari would doubtless approve.

Having been incited by such obscene remarks to believe that the Israelis are indeed Nazis – with all the Holocaust-denial that such a monstrously inverted view necessarily entails)  the Norwegians clearly think it's time for a pogrom against their supporters. The Jerusalem Post reports that Siv Jensen, chairwoman of the main opposition Progress Party, has been receiving death threats after she spoke at a pro-Israel rally and is now under 24-hour security guard.

'I have never experienced this kind of hatred in Norway,' said Toje, who was present at the demonstration. 'There were people throwing stones at and spitting on rally-goers. Afterward, people carrying Israeli flags were randomly attacked in the streets.' Along with expressions of support for Israel, speakers at the rally, including Jensen, called for aid to be distributed in Gaza and for a cease-fire agreement to be signed. 'It was a peaceful rally,' said Toje. 'Jensen was calling for the same things as Barack Obama. The difference is that she was doing it in Norway. The environment here is different.' The Socialist Left Party (Sosialistisk Venstreparti), which is part of the current coalition, has proposed a number of boycotts against Israel since the government was formed in 2005. 'The first was a general boycott,' said Toje. 'Next came an academic boycott and then a boycott on arms.' The boycotts, though not implemented, have exacerbated an already hostile atmosphere.

As they do everywhere. And now as Ha'aretz reports American academics are also leaping on the pogrom bandwagon.
