Did China or Jihadists try to bankrupt America? Pentagon report reveals financial terrorists may have triggered economic crash
Two mystery investors 'were number one traders in all financial companies that collapsed or are
Speaking to the Washington Post, Mr Freeman said that American security forces needed to address vulnerabilities in the U.S. financial system.
He said: 'We spend hundreds of billions of dollars on weapons systems each year.
'But a relatively small amount of money focused against our financial markets through leveraged derivatives or cyber efforts can result in trillions of dollars in losses.
'This is the equivalent of box cutters on an air plane.'
When asked who he thought may be responsible for the attacks, Mr. Freeman added: 'Unfortunately, the two major strategic threats, radical jihadists and the Chinese, are among the best positioned in the economic battle space.'
The report says that as the crisis began, 'virtually overnight' two relatively small brokers emerged to trade, 'trillions of dollars worth of U.S. blue chip companies.'
Crucially, these as yet unidentified investors are currently the number one traders in, 'all financial companies that collapsed or are now financially supported by the U.S. government,' according to Mr Freeman.

In the past two days, a “minor” news item only just made it into the mainstream news flow. In the past two days, two of Athens’ most central underground stations, in closest proximity to parliament (Syntagma and Evangelismos) were abruptly shut down by police, despite the fact no official demonstration was planned, yesterday at least — merely as some “precautionary” measure.
Buck over People: The Death of Greek Democracy
Greece backing down from a referendum on economic reforms is a blow to the principle of democracy and an implicit endorsement of the view that the few “elite” know what is best for the majority- the majority are stupid- except that the majority will bear the brunt of the reforms and not the minority!
Kostas Kechagias – The “indignants”, online communities and parliamentary democracy
The organization of political actions through online communities and social networking is becoming more frequent and massive. This phenomenon is difficult to comprehend and interpret, within a broader context. In addition, it embodies special characteristics, such as the absence of specific political demands, which impede it from functioning as an actor of political pressure and influence. In this article, an effort towards the comprehension of the characteristics of the phenomenon, based on the understanding of the operation of the online communities, is attempted. A mechanism for developing political demands is also suggested.
Will the Greeks Save Democracy?
A bombshell! This is one to bring the house down. The Greeks are to have a referendum on whether to accept the terms of the bail-out cobbled together a few days ago in crisis conditions. The country has no possible means ever of repaying its debt, and the Brussels mob came up with a bail-out, inadequate in itself, vague except for the strings attached. Essentially they issued a diktat whereby in return for token cash, Greeks are to hand their economy to the Brussels mob, or in plain language, give up their sovereignty. Aux barricades! Of course, they have taken to the streets. Much more of it, and the country will reach social break-down.

Democracy’s Cradle, Rocking the World
Yesterday, the whole world was watching Greece as its Parliament voted to pass a divisive package of austerity measures that could have critical ramifications for the global financial system. It may come as a surprise that this tiny tip of the Balkan Peninsula could command such attention. We usually think of Greece as the home of Plato and Pericles, its real importance lying deep in antiquity. But this is hardly the first time that to understand Europe’s future, you need to turn away from the big powers at the center of the continent and look closely at what is happening in Athens. For the past 200 years, Greece has been at the forefront of Europe’s evolution.

Thousands Protest G20 in France
Over 10,000 people marched in Nice to protest against the upcoming G20 summit. The crowds, angry with the financial system and invigorated by the global "Occupy" movement, demanded governments focus on people more than corporations.

Why Brussels won’t give voters a voice
One fact emerges with stark clarity from the Greek debacle: the EU is pathologically opposed to democracy.
A damnable contempt for democracy
The derision over the Greeks' desire for a referendum betrays the EU's loathing of ordinary people
If Greece can have democratic vote on debt crisis why can't we?
In a statement, the “Enough” campaign has said people in Ireland should be given the same opportunity as the people of Greece to vote on whether they wish to continue with the EU-IMF dictated policy of bailing out bondholders and imposing crippling austerity.
EU: Democracy Incompatible with Debt Collection
AMY GOODMAN: World leaders are gathering in Cannes for the opening of the Group of 20 summit today. That’s the G20 summit. On the top of the agenda is Greece and the European debt crisis. The Greek prime minister, George Papandreou, is coming under intense criticism from European leaders for allowing the Greek people to decide if they want to accept the conditions of a $179 billion E.U. bailout. Papandreou has announced the referendum will take place in early December, but it now looks like his government is in danger of collapsing before then. He faces a vote of no confidence tomorrow. According to polls, most Greeks are opposed to the bailout plan, and there have been protests across the country against deepening austerity.
The Future of Native Lands and Economy; Let’s make life easier for ourselves and be our own boss
There’s this horrible notion spread around Indian Country and elsewhere that “Economic Development” is this foreign concept. It’s like this great thing that is being with held from us, and once it arrives everything will be great. Consequently, we often sit around waiting for it to arrive, usually in the form of a big casino or mining operation to bring jobs into Indian Country. Our tribal leaders work diligently and hard to “attract investment” when all they really seem to be able to attract is a higher salary for themselves. Fortunately, “economic development” isn’t so complicated. People have been doing it for themselves ever since, well, ever since the dawn of humanity.
Henry David Thoreau Civil Disobedience
I heartily accept the motto, "That government is best which governs least"; and I should like to see it acted up to more rapidly and systematically. Carried out, it finally amounts to this, which also I believe--"That government is best which governs not at all"; and when men are prepared for it, that will be the kind of government which they will have. Government is at best but an expedient; but most governments are usually, and all governments are sometimes, inexpedient. The objections which have been brought against a standing army, and they are many and weighty, and deserve to prevail, may also at last be brought against a standing government. The standing army is only an arm of the standing government. The government itself, which is only the mode which the people have chosen to execute their will, is equally liable to be abused and perverted before the people can act through it. Witness the present Mexican war, the work of comparatively a few individuals using the standing government as their tool; for in the outset, the people would not have consented to this measure.
Life without Electricity - Pursuing a Pleasant, Electricity-Free Lifestyle
It is not all that long ago when we began using so many electrical appliances in everyday life. Japan's first "pulsator-type" washing machine, a prototype of current models, reached the market in 1953. Its popularity exploded as it was a convenient product that considerably reduced household work loads. Full-scale television broadcasting also started in 1953. This year set a precedent for the expanding use of various home appliances; so much so that it was later referred to as "year one of electrification."

‘Robin Hood’ Tax Bill Introduced in Congress
The day before participants at demonstrations in Washington, D.C., Cannes, France, Los Angeles and San Francisco will call on Congress and global leaders to adopt a small “Robin Hood” tax (financial speculation tax) to create jobs, bills were introduced in the U.S. House and Senate to adopt such a tax.
Oligarchy, American Style
Inequality is back in the news, largely thanks to Occupy Wall Street, but with an assist from the Congressional Budget Office. And you know what that means: It’s time to roll out the obfuscators!

So who is getting the big gains? A very small, wealthy minority.
The budget office report tells us that essentially all of the upward redistribution of income away from the bottom 80 percent has gone to the highest-income 1 percent of Americans. That is, the protesters who portray themselves as representing the interests of the 99 percent have it basically right, and the pundits solemnly assuring them that it’s really about education, not the gains of a small elite, have it completely wrong.
If anything, the protesters are setting the cutoff too low. The recent budget office report doesn’t look inside the top 1 percent, but an earlier report, which only went up to 2005, found that almost two-thirds of the rising share of the top percentile in income actually went to the top 0.1 percent — the richest thousandth of Americans, who saw their real incomes rise more than 400 percent over the period from 1979 to 2005.

A Letter of Solidarity with the Informal Anarchist Federation by Walter Bond, A.L.F Prisoner of War (USA)
Hello, my name is Walter Bond. I am currently serving a prison sentence in the United States for 3 A.L.F. arsons totaling nearly 2 million dollars’ worth of damage. Recently, I read a statement in solidarity with the Conspiracy Cells of Fire attempting to create a real voice for all of us political prisoners and prisoners of war, those of us that have fought and still fight from our prison cells against all civilization. I was happy to see that solidarity was signed with me in that article as well. As a small token of my support please accept the enclosed brief letter of solidarity that I have written for the Informal Anarchist Federation. Animal Liberation, Whatever It May Take!

ARonic - Prophet over Profit (#occupywallstreet tribute)
Lyrics:
Too many often times
You just been followin the lines that rhyme
Assuming it all aligns
Cuz it falls in line on time
The ones you should believe in at all
Are the ones that bleed
and read on the wall
If you want the revolution to rise
You must first help us bring in the fall
I've already regretted the silence
I'm ready for the sounds of violence
You've steadily been getting a balance
of a fabricated fallace
Under an encumbered slumber
Runnin through Wonderlands with Alice
Hallucinogenic states
make for a complacent nation
Eugenic inoculations
unlock the documentation
Playin games with the race
Placin wagers like Peter Rose
Be prepared for the collapse
I fear the fate of the end of the world
I lended a hand to let it be known
A warning shot to awake the souls
A rolling stone I break the mold
I chose the prophet over profit
I spread the word to the flock
I'd like to watch them try and stop it.
Watch them try and stop it...
