A Change is in the Wind 2

A Change is in the Wind

The Sun is setting on this Earth, upon those who would deny our worth, The Sun is setting in the Western sky, I hear the moans and I hear the cries.

Hey Na Hiki Yi Hey, Hey Now Hiki Yi Ho,
Hey Na HIki Yi Heay, Hey Nau Hiki Yi Ho.
The say we are the brave and free, as they conspire to keep us in slavery, Their greed it has dehumanized, Their speeches but a pack of lies.
Chorus:
A change is in the wind, Ancient power's in the air,
A change is in the wind,
A dawn of Light and Love of those who care,
A change is in the wind,
A tempest comes extraditing ones from Earth who will not share!

The Bird Tribe's messages are clear, the time is right to let go of fear, A river of light's running swift and strong, to take us back where we belong.
Hey Now..
I invoke the Spirit of the Sun to shine through the hearts of everyone, to fill our lives with love and peace and restore Mother Nature's harmony.
(repeat chorus)
We're coerced to pay for a war machine, and fund murderous technologies, the time has come to set things right and end this reign of fear and might.
Hey now...
Imagine an army with soldiers of Love, whose insignia is the Holy Dove, with the mission to eradicate poverty, and light the way so that we may see!
(repeat chorus 2x)

OpSupport Greece

Citizens of the world.

A cancer tumor has at last been exposed and revealed to the public by photos and videos during citizen's latest protests in Greece.

A political cancer tumor that does not respond to the civilian leadership though is formally under the command of our corrupted governors.

This cancer tumor is called "a state within a state".

Many of us have witnessed these weird figures among the crowd wearing motorcycle helmets, holding iron or wooden bars, scattered all around ready to do their "job".

Lately we have seen them coming out from the very core of a political party which was guarding the parliament.

Guess what! These people, in their majority, works for the POLICE.

We are outraged.

This is unacceptable, especially by someone who has assumed the duty to protect the constitution and its civilians.

We have in our possession a huge list of your police identities.

We have decided that you shall receive the full fury of Anonymous.
We shall continue to wage war against you until you have paid the price for your reprehensible actions.

If you send your paratroops one more time again to the upcoming protests we will expose you all.
One by one.

We demand officers which have taken place in this, their immediate resignation from the police force.
We will not cease our attacks until you have done so.

We are doing this for the Greek people who among other issues, day by day, are being silenced by their own media, their government, the police but most importantly, fear.
Fear not citizens of Greece. We know the situation and we fully support you.

We are Anonymous.

We are Legion.

We do not Forgive.

We do not Forget.

Expect us!

Undercover officers were intimadating people who tried to photograph the incident.
He was dragged to a small alley and police blocked it tto prevent any witnesses from coming in. The second part of the clip is when I run to the other end of the alley. There was around 10 coppers involved.

Occupy London responds to Corporation of London proposal

OccupyLSX -

The General Assembly of Occupy London has this morning communicated the following to the City of London Corporation via its lawyer Paul Ridge of Bindmans.

Occupy London would like to emphasise that, as part of the global movement for real democracy challenging social and econonomic injustice, its interests are broader than matters pertaining to the City of London Corporation, as per the initial statement of the Occupy London Stock Exchange General Assembly. This was collectively agreed on Sunday 16th October, the second day of the occupation, at the camp based at St Paul’s Courtyard.

It is the hope of Occupy London that, in the spirit of openness and inclusivity that the Occupy movement embraces and advocates, representatives of the City of London Corporation will attend one of its General Assemblies at the Occupy London Stock Exchange camp to discuss these and other issues in a non-hierarchical democratic forum.

Response of Occupy London

We reject the proposal, as the terms are unreasonable and they serve only to establish the ground work for the City of London Corporation to bring proceedings against the Occupy London Stock Exchange occupation based at St Paul’s Churchyard.

The City of London Corporation is an undemocratic authority which is more accountable to corporations than the public. We cannot negotiate with such an institution without undermining our sister occupations across the globe, who are being violently oppressed by authorities with the same interests as the City of London Corporation.

We propose that if the following terms are met, we will wish to continue dialogue. We call on the City of London Corporation to do the following:

1. Publish full, year-by-year breakdowns of the City Cash account, future and historic.
2. Make the entirety of its activities subject to the Freedom of Information Act.
3. Detail all advocacy undertaken on behalf of the banking and finance industries, since the 2008 financial crash.

We have been working, and will continue to work, with the fire service as well as the health and safety executive to ensure the occupation remains a safe environment for ourselves and our neighbours.

We have also posted the minutes of Thursday and Wednesday’s 7pm General Assemblies, which were devoted to this subject.

Odds & Ends; Ill-Gotten Gains, The Rockefeller War on Drugs

Rockefeller's War on Drugs

By Jean Carter

How the Rockefellers turned the United States and other countries into police states.

Most people are not aware that John D. Rockefeller Junior (1874 to 1960) was the man directly responsible for creating and instigating the destructive war on drugs. The war on drugs which has continued for many decades since it was started in the early 1900s was carefully planned and orchestrated to protect the family ownership of a chemically-based pharmaceutical monopoly.

The war was first begun by Rockefeller Junior, with the help of his father, John D. Rockefeller Senior (1839 to 1937), taking over the control of all legal narcotics. A few years after Rockefeller Junior had taken over the narcotics business market, they then set their sights on eliminating medicinal marijuana (known as cannabis), because it was a competitive threat to their chemically-based pharmaceutical sales.

In addition to the control on narcotics, Rockefeller Junior was also directly responsible for the prohibition of marijuana back during the 1930s, and he was the real reason behind the government-sponsored Reefer-Madness propaganda campaign designed to scare people about marijuana. Rockefeller Junior used as a business tactic the strategy of controlling narcotics by using political influence to get laws passed. He also used the strategy of prohibiting certain medicines, in order to control the entire medical system, which he, with the help of his father was able to accomplish. This was done to insure that the Rockefeller-owned pharmaceutical companies would remain the powerful monopolies that they had become. Hemp/marijuana made plentiful ethanol when distilled and was good for running car engines, generators etc. Hemp/marijuana had many industrial uses such as cloth, paper, ropes, and many, many other uses. Because it made plentiful ethanol it therefore was seen as a competitive threat to the Rockefeller petroleum monopolies, as was the fact that cannabis/marijuana was an excellent natural medicine which presented a serious threat to the Rockefeller monopoly on chemically-based pharmaceutical sales.

[ ... ]

A little historical footnote about the Rockefeller Foundation, as well as the Carnegie Foundation which is actually funded by Rockefeller money follows. Back in 1954 a congressional committee called the Reese committee was convened to investigate tax exempt Foundations such as the Rockefeller Foundation. The investigation found a lot of wrongdoing on the part of these Foundations and was critical of how they operated. When the results of the investigation were released to the public, Carol Reese, the man who was in charge of the investigation, was slandered and attacked by the Rockefeller controlled media.

Another project that the Rockefellers were working on was narcotic control (opium) in order to insure their monopoly on the medical system. Rockefeller Senior must have known that the person who can decide who gets to use narcotics and who cannot is the person who controls the entire medical system. Without narcotics, doctors cannot practice medicine, and hospitals cannot treat patients in pain or perform surgical procedures. Without narcotics people suffering terrible pain cannot find relief. Narcotics are a necessity to any medical system. Rockefeller Senior and Junior used a variety of methods to corner the market and control narcotics. One of these tactics was to hide behind sacred cows to achieve business goals. Sacred cows such as religion, church groups and missionaries. I am not sure if it was Senior or Junior who thought up the idea to use missionaries to beat the drum for prohibition of narcotics, but that was one of their tactics. The missionaries carefully chosen by the Rockefellers were reportedly Baptist fundamentalist types who were more interested in stirring up trouble for people who used narcotics than spreading the word of the Lord. The missionaries in China were always trying to get laws passed which punished those Chinese citizens who used narcotics. In 1909 Rockefeller, using his missionaries convened the first commission on international narcotics, sponsored by the U.S. State Department, and held in Shanghai, China.

Europe’s Greatest Deficit is its Democracy
Now a byzantine maze of executive and legislative powers prevents real democracy from being exercised. To see an example of this, consider the Lisbon Treaty’s treatment of the force of popular initiatives. Title II, Article 8 B(4) reads:
Not less than one million citizens who are nationals of a significant number of Member States may take the initiative of inviting the European Commission, within the framework of its powers, to submit any appropriateproposal on matters where citizens consider that a legal act of the Union is required for the purpose of implementing the Treaties.
That is, the Commission itself can decide if the number is “significant” and whether the proposal is “appropriate” before it even considers itself “invite[d]” to submit the subject for consideration to the legislative organs of the Union. And that is after a successful effort to get one million citizens to officially opine on a Union matter in several countries, which would be no mean feat.

A Different Conversation
We need a fundamental change in the conversation about Occupy and in the broader conversation about the state of the country. Let’s talk about the kind of country and the kind of world we want to live in. Let’s talk about how to take better care of each other. Let’s talk about how to be responsible neighbors and dependable friends. Let’s talk about how to be inclusive and respectful.
We need to stop asking more from those who are already doing their best, and start expecting more from ourselves. If we agree that no one should be hungry and no one should be cold, that every child should have access to education and every sick person should have access to medicine, why are we content to sit on the sidelines while others work toward systematic solutions toinjustice?

What Democracy Is For: On Freedom and Moral Government
In this provocative book, Stein Ringen argues that the world's democracies are failing to live up to their ideals--the United States and Great Britain most especially. The core value of democracy, he contends, is freedom, the freedom to live a good life according to one's own choosing. Yet he shows that democracy's freedom is on the decline. Citizens are increasingly distrustful of political systems weighted by money, and they don't participate in political affairs as they once did. Ringen warns of the risks we face if this trend continues, and puts forth an ambitious proposal for democratic reforms.
The issues that concern him are ones that should concern us all. They include education, poverty, the social and economic roles of families, the lack of democracy in our economic lives, and the need to rejuvenate municipal democracy. Along the way, Ringen proposes policy solutions aimed at restoring democracy, such as universal vouchers for education, substituting the principle of individual insurance for social-welfare pensions, and rethinking how we measure poverty in rich and poor countries. He calls for the revival of local democracy, a democratically grounded global economy, and the protection of political democracy from the transgressions of economic power.
The way to protect democracy is not to cheer it, but to reform it. What Democracy Is For offers a bold defense of democratic ideals, grounded in real reforms.
Stein Ringen is Professor of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Oxford. His books include Citizens, Families, and Reform and The Possibility of Politics.

This is our time to come together and create a genuine people’s assembly of Vancouver Island in the spirit of true participatory democracy. Direct democracy comes from the people living in the communities in which decisions are made. Real democracy means being mutually respectful of all the diverse voices that join the conversation. Radical democracy is 'from the grassroots' or from the ground up. It is non-violent, and committed to mutual aid and collective decision-making.

‘Occupy’ protesters dig in against police

Tensions were rising at anti-Wall Street protests in three western U.S. cities on Friday as demonstrators in Portland, Salt Lake City and Oakland defied orders by police to dismantle their camps.

In Portland, police said they had received reports that protesters were digging a reinforced hole and fashioning make-shift weapons out of wood and nails after Mayor Sam Adams gave them until midnight on Saturday to clear out of two downtown parks.

Police said they believed Occupy Portland organizers had also put out a call for reinforcements from Oakland, Seattle and San Francisco as they prepared for a confrontation.

“There may even be as many as 150 anarchists who will arrive soon,” Portland police said in a written statement.
