The riots that hit London and other English cities last week have the potential to spread beyond the British Isles. Class rage isn’t unique to England; in fact, it represents part of a growing global class chasm that threatens to undermine capitalism itself.
Yes, it’s Class War.
The obese, brain-dead, middle-aged, middle-class, who are still stuck in front of the TV getting their daily dose of disinformation from the criminally-tainted Murdoch-dominated corporate media, still believing the fairy tale of retiring with a paid-up mortgage and a comfortable pension, may scoff at the suggestion and the affluent, consumerist working class may still not see it but their children are on the streets fighting the war they forgot – the Class War.
Buffett calls for rich to stop class war
Today Warren Buffett, the third wealthiest man in the world, has come out demanding his mega-rich friends play a part in the American economic recovery.
Burning Questions of London – Class War or Pure Criminality
And to these people I would say this: you are not only wrecking the lives of others, you are not only wrecking your communities, you are potentially wrecking your own lives too.

There is no future in England’s dreaming
Don’t be told what you want
Don’t be told what you need

No future for you…

If today is Wednesday and you are in #Belarus, join the protest! #europeanrevolution
Hundreds of young people in Belarus take the streets weekly, bonding through social networking sites. They are protesting against the lack of free speech and the iron fist of the regime.
When is a riot a rebellion?
Several days of unprecedented revolt by the most impoverished minority-populated neighborhoods of London have shaken the normally staid and reserved British aristocracy. Prime Minister David Cameron cut short his Italian vacation in sunny Tuscany to return to the red-orange glare of a burning city. The prime minister was not the only one inconvenienced.
Why I Riot
There are reasons why I riot. You might not like them, but they’re mine.
The sad truth behind London riot
As political and social protests grip the Middle East, are growing in Europe and a riot exploded in north London this weekend, here's a sad truth, expressed by a Londoner when asked by a television reporter: Is rioting the correct way to express your discontent?
"Yes," said the young man. "You wouldn't be talking to me now if we didn't riot, would you?"
Nothing 'mindless' about rioters
Although riots are complex social phenomenona, the recent unrest in England has inescapably political roots
Britain's riots are the fruits of anti-human austerity
As the coalition government, headed by the Conservatives, went ahead and slashed the budgets of local governments and set in place the most drastic cuts to social services in fifty years, the predictions of social commentators and budget analysts was that the effect upon the young in London and in the UK more generally would be highly detrimental.
Are the biggest barriers to global recovery 'political, not economic'?
George Osborne believes the world faces a crisis of confidence in governmental efforts to address structural problems holding back global recovery, and that more political courage is needed. Writing in the Financial Times, he says the biggest barriers to sustainable recovery are political, not economic.
Boff Whalley: 'In defence of anarchy'
It's the catch-all term that's being used to describe this week's riots. But is this really anarchy? Not even close, says Chumbawumba's Boff Whalley, a self-professed anarchist

Penny Cole: Challenge the Hate-Filled State
The low level of debate at the emergency recall of Parliament underlines the yawning gulf between rulers and ruled, and the establishment’s poisonous hatred for working class youth.
North London Take The Square Unity Demonstration "Give Our Kids A Future." Following the Riots
On August the 13th, a coalition of groups marched from Dalston to Tottenham Green, calling for unity with those communities affected by the London riots. The event was named "Give Our Kids A Future."
A preface
Posted on August 13, 2011For this first post I felt that something like a foreword was needed. I definitely found it in the preface to Hellas, a dramatic poem by P. B. Shelley.
This is the age of the war of the oppressed against the oppressors, and every one of those ringleaders of the privileged gangs of murderers and swindlers, called Sovereigns, look to each other for aid against the common enemy, and suspend their mutual jealousies in the presence of a mightier fear. Of this holy alliance all the despots of the earth are virtual members. But a new race has arisen throughout Europe, nursed in the abhorrence of the opinions which are its chains, and she will continue to produce fresh generations to accomplish that destiny which tyrants foresee and dread.

Remembering Brian Haw & The Victims of War: Stop The Arms Fair!
Just made this video to remember Brian Haw, who passed away last night, and all victims of war. I would like to remember Brian by calling people to stop the DSEi Arms Fair. More info here: http://www.stopthearmsfair.org.uk/
I found Brian a continual inspiration, from having met him at the start of the protests and dismissed him a bit to seeing the man everyewhere and thinking WOW I love that guy. Brian always said "They're my kids!" When referring to the children being bombed in Iraq and Afghanistan and he was definitely an inspiration to me in my attitude.
Pictured are his protests and his arrests along with pictures from Iraq, Afghanistan and Abu Ghraib.

BED PEACE starring John Lennon & Yoko Ono
Dear Friends,
In 1969, John and I were so naïve to think that doing the Bed-In would help change the world.
Well, it might have. But at the time, we didn't know.
It was good that we filmed it, though.
The film is powerful now.
What we said then could have been said now.
In fact, there are things that we said then in the film, which may give some encouragement and inspiration to the activists of today. Good luck to us all.
Let's remember WAR IS OVER if we want it.
It's up to us, and nobody else.
John would have wanted to say that.
Love, yoko

ABOUT BED PEACE
1969 was the year that John & Yoko intensified their long running campaign for World Peace. They approached the task with the same entrepreneurial expertise as an advertising agency selling a brand of soap powder to the masses. John & Yoko's product however was PEACE, not soft soap, and they were determined to use any slogan, event and gimmick in order to persuade the World to buy it.
BED PEACE (directed by Yoko & John and filmed by Nic Knowland) is a document of the Montreal events and features John & Yoko in conversation with, amongst others, The World Press, satirist Al Capp, activist Dick Gregory, comedian Tommy Smothers, protesters at Berkeley's People's Park, Rabbi Abraham L. Feinberg, quiltmaker Christine Kemp, psychologists Timothy Leary & Rosemary Leary, CFOX DJs Charles P. Rodney Chandler & Roger Scott, producer André Perry, journalist Ritchie York, DJ & Promoter Murray The K, filmmaker Jonas Mekas, publicist Derek Taylor & personal assistant Anthony Fawcett.
Featured songs are Plastic Ono Band's GIVE PEACE A CHANCE & INSTANT KARMA, Yoko's REMEMBER LOVE & WHO HAS SEEN THE WIND & John's acoustic version of BECAUSE.

Scientists Develop New Technique to Protect Photographers from Persecution
University of Luxembourg have developed a new technique that may help photographers protect their anonymity. This idea came from Prof. Shishir Nagaraja, professor for IT Security at the Institute for Information Technology in Delhi (IIIT), after seeing how public authorities had used pictures of demonstrations to hunt down those people that had been carrying cameras.
