The Sand Creek Massacre

"The Sand Creek Massacre" is an examination of an open wound in the souls of the Cheyenne and Arapaho people as told from their perspective. On November 29, 1864, Colorado troops savagely slaughtered over 165 peace-seeking Cheyenne and Arapaho babies, children, women, elders and persons with disabilities under its protection. This act became known as the Sand Creek Massacre. This documentary presentation chronicles that horrific 19th century event and its effect on the 21st century struggle for respectful coexistence between white and native plains cultures.
